Tips when looking for a local Doctor or walk in health care clinic
- If you have insurance, make sure that the Doctors office will accept the insurance
- If you don't have insurance, check to see if the Doctor will give you a discount for cash or allow you make to payments
- Make sure that there is someone at the Doctors office that can translate if needed
- You can check Doctor ratings to see what others think of the MD that you may be going to see
- Make sure that you get costs and fees up front
- Do you prefer a male or female Doctor? Make sure that you let them know if you are using a clinic etc.
- Are you more comfortable with an older Doctor or one that is younger?
- Is the Doctor associated with a hospital that you approve of?
- Check complaints on your potential MD. Most states have sites when you can do this for free!
- If you need referred to a specialist, are they close by?
- Do they bill your insurance for service or do you have to pay up front and wait to get reimbursed?
